Hi Jujube....and welcome
Im just gonna hit ya with everything I got so excuse the rambling, preachy, verbose, crappola Im about to bestoy on you as I step up on my soapbox!
Are you sure you want to get into iguanas? You've read everything you possibly can on em? If you can buy a copy of James Hatfields Ultimate Iguana Owners Manual <$30. PRIOR to getting your ig it will help. Igs are no where as easy as say a WD.They are high maintenance pets and require a commitment. Please consider adopting one....many people get rid of em because they got too big, they've gotten aggressive, the novelty has worn off, or get "tired" of the commitment it takes to care for them, or they just no longer have the time they require to spend on em.There are alot of sweet igs out there lookin for a home. If you haven't gone over to Melissa Kaplans or Jen Swoffords website I suggest you do so,also Kevin Egans Iguana Den, Adam Britons site (links below) have the most accurate info on iguana care on the net.
Regarding your proposed set up....sounds ok you can have shelves with a ramp set up with wall/ceiling & chain type mounts for your heating/basking lights and uvb tube. Your ig will learn that this is his place to hang out. If you can have a shelf near a window so he can look out..will keep him interested.. igs like to watch...leave the window open during the sunny days making sure the windowscreen is secure, for some free uvb. When closed will also provide a little extra heat with the sun coming thru the glass, but you gotta make sure it doesn't get too hot for him as glass magnifies the heat. If you are prepared for the time & expense iguanas require go for it!! They are a trip!
