I adopted a little 2 year old iguana. It has been through a lot, according to my vet, and is missing all his spines, is very small for its age, and generally looks like it went through the mill. But an experienced rescuer rehabbed him and I got him eating like a pig.
However, the day I took him to the vet, I was taking three iguanas in and one dog for a postop visit, and was seriously stressed and I may have inadvertently caught is foot in the cage. He is holding his foot to the side and not using it. It does not slow him down at all but the foot is swollen at the wrist and the toes are limp.
Any advise? No cuts or lacerations that I can see so probably not an infection.
Any advise would be appreciated. I feel so guilty. I may not have caused this break as he is in with a larger iguana but they have not been fighting.
