1) lights...the rep lights you purchased are super expensive(been there done that!). Regular household bulbs work just as well for daytime basking spots (you know how cheap those are!) for nighttime basking... maybe buy a 75 watt infared red/blue heat lamp like at wal-mart or home depot about 6 dollars and will last eons longer...may want to pick up a few timers and set all his lighting on timers.
2) May want to check out human heating pads...since Indy ig likes hanging out in his hidespot put the heat pad under the hidespot so he has a warm nighttime hangout.
3) Vitamin sprays suck! who knows how much is actually being absorbed...I don't do you? Indy's already getting uvb --->D3--->D2 from his flourescent tube so no need to "spray it on" or add it (supplements) to his salad. Make sure he's hanging out where the uvb tube is within 12 inches of him so he benefits from it.
4) Iglets need a phosphorus free , NO Vit.D3 calcium supplement EVERYDAY! maybe a Tums crushed and sprinkled on his wet salad or Rep Cal w/o D3.
They also need a multi-vit. about 2-3xs a week. Choose one with very little IUs of Vit D3. Like MinerAll.
5) Iglets do better with a higher plant protein, high calcium high fiber diet. So...that rules out almost everything you're giving your iglet...check out the food list at Iggylovers(link below) go to Info & Care links...will give you lots of ideas on high calcium , high fiber, high plant protein foods to give him. Indy's salad should look something like this...
60-70% dark leafy calcium rich greens...like dandelion, mustard, collard, escarole
20-30% nutritious veggies...like winter squashes acorn, spaghetti, butternut squash, pumpkin, cactus.
10-20% nutritious fruits....like papaya, rasberries, oranges (valencia oranges are great to add for a dehydrated ig!)

Hope this helps...I sure wish someone would have pointed these things out to me many years ago (*before* I killed my last two iglets)

Gina
