:I have an a ig that has used to eat alot but was still skinney he had a couple of fecals done that came back w/no parasites. After moving to a new town he went for his physical and the new vet sugested that he be treated for parasites. He was given Panacur and has started to gain weight and fill out. Apparantly you have to get negetive fecals for six months to be sure. You might want to discuss this w/your vet.

I recently adopted Buddy, a large iguana who turned out to be a female. Buddy eats like a PIG! 2-3x what the other iguanas eat. The vet studied a fecal and said no parasites. Can iguanas eat too much food? Is getting fat a concern with these animals?

: When she hears me coming with the food, she literally leaps up to the feeding area and waits for you. You have to drop food on the shelf so she will eat that and let you put food in her bowl.

: She is a little thin, and definitely has room to fill out but what a PIG. And she is the most responsive iguana I have. She knows her name, is always looking around and trying to get out of her cage, and is generally a delight.

: But what a PIG!! Should I just feed her as much as she will eat? One feeding or two?

: Any info is greatly appreciated.
