: I too, plugged in the latin name and came up with the page telling me that it's good to eat the leaves and the flowers. Thanks for telling me about the higher phosphorous levels in the flowers--I wouldn't have known that. Initially, I was interested in growing hibiscus for JUST the flowers. I didn't know the leaves were also edible unitl you told me so. So, thanks! You've been a big help to me. I really do appreciate your time and attention.
: I'll plant the Rose of Sharon soon and hopefully Habib and Bobbit will have a nice addition to their diet this summer. I also planted my first garden this spring. I'm growing collards, mustard greens, beans, peas, four kinds of winter squash, raspberries, zucchini, crook-neck squash and parsnips. Any ideas as to who all those veggies are for? :) Sounds like an obsessed iguana-owner's garden if I ever heard one!
