Emma, is there a number or tv station that you can call regarding advice. You may want to leave while the water is only a couple inches. You run the risk of flooding the car (expensive) or worse, being swept off the road. We had a TV station and a hurricane line to answer questions from people wanting to know how whether to evacuate. Good Luck. Check in tomorrow.
