Not all iguanas bite....but all are capable of inflicting serious injury should they decide to.Based on personal experience: Iguanas are unpredictable. They cannot be domesticated, but are trainable to a certain extent. You cannot tame instinct out of them and NO amount of socialization will *guarantee* they will not bite, attack you, a pet, another reptile or someone else one day, and I don't care what popular "igsperts" have to say to contradict what I'm posting. Sometimes their body language gives you a clue when they are ready to bite...sometimes not. You must know your ig real well which only increases your awareness to your igs body language. Males *are* more aggressive than females but my female has tried to bite me several times too. I have a respect for my iguanas that doesn't include anthropomophism (treating animals like humans with human type thinking processes & behaviors) as Cwatbay talked about a few months back (see who says I can't type big words!! lol) its peaks and valleys with them, taking the bad with the good, a commitment. Bottom line Annette...I think yer still straddling the fence. You have had your ig for awhile now...noone is gonna think any less of you if you feel yer over yer head with her...and adopt her out. Iguana's are HIGH maintenance pets...you gotta do whats best for *you* and *her*. This is something you gotta work out on yer own, but I'll let ya off the hook ;-) Whatever you decide we're here for ya! Now that will be 5 cents for this session! lol
