try sprinkling water on it's salad everytime you feed your ig ~
also ~ look in your ig's mouth ~ if the saliva is sticky/gummy, then it's not getting enough fluids ~ otherwise, it's prob'ly doing ok!
the spikes sound like they need a good soak on a daily basis to help them shed ~ there's prob'ly at least one layer of unshed spike on there and that will cause the spikes to shrivel cuz they're not getting adequate blood flow ... iZ likes to have a washcloth on his back when he's soaking in the tub (he likes blue the best!) ... this not only makes soaking the spikes alot easier but keeps him from getting chilled and so he enjoys soaking for a longer period of time ...
