Is your iguana shedding or recently shed? Our ig's spikes look kind of what you're describing while shedding. Give your ig a good soaking in the tub and apply a warm wet washcloth over the spikes. Pour warm water of the washcloth. If the spikes are old shed, they should pull right off after you do this a few times.
