: Justin, I didn't want you to read iZ's Mom's post and think "what horrid people." If you are a regular reader of this forum, you know how often this sort of stuff pops up. The sad truth is that by rescuing reptiles in this condition by buying them it tends to re-inforce the store's selling of them. That's why it is not recommended that YOU be the saviour of a mistreated-in-store-reptile. The practice of keeping reptiles by minimum requirements (if meeting ANY at all) does not need to be perpetuated by well-meaning, kind people such as yourself. I do hope that you can see this.

: What YOU CAN DO is contact the different animal groups that are supposed to protect them and turn this place in for investigation. And once you turn them in, keep calling the agency(ies) for reports so that you know something is being done. If you have a local herp society, contact them and ask for their help. If all else fails or no one will help, go to the media. I realize that you don't live there and this may be difficult. You might look for websites for the town or state and start there by e-mailing officials. The state should have a Fish and Wildlife Division. That may be a good place to start your inquiry on how to stop this owner's abuse.

: Maybe others will have more (better) ideas for you. I know that we all wish you luck and perhaps there is someone out there in NJ who can add their voice to yours and get this person stopped.

: Glenda aka Iguanamomma
