These are of Lizzy 3 weeks after her hysterectomy and egg removal. She's still pretty skinny, but slowly filling out again. She was skin and bones when I picked her up from the vet. I took her some fresh cilantro, hoping she would eat for the first time in a month. Sure enough, she did. She's been the bottomless pit ever since. Before her surgery and one month of fasting, she weighed 3lbs. I swear when I picked her up her 28 eggs weighed at least 1 1/2 lbs. I don't know how she did it. I suppose you all already knew this but it suprised the heck out of me: the eggs were linked together by tiny blood vessels like sausages! Each ovary produced 14 eggs. Holding them up vertically, the strand of eggs were at least 18 inches long. She'll get her stiches out Sept. 9. Yes, HD, you can use the pics for the web site. Many thanks for helping me share. (If they don't post, I'll try again.)
