I'm reading the label right now and it says....Topical aid in the removal of excessive keratin in hyperkeratotic skin disorders (calluses, thickened skin etc...)
Ingredients: salicylic acid 6.6%, sodium lactate 5%, and urea 5% in a propylene glycol gel. It also says salicylic acid has been shown to produce desquarmation of the horny layer of skin while not affecting the qualitative structure of the viable epidermis.
In other words it's exfoliating.
Mmmmm...I'm sure you could aquire it from your vets office but me thinks I could have tried the veggie oil instead of paying $16 for this gel. However, no amount of money is too much if it helps my sweet iggy's tail.
