Hi Chris;

Here at our local stores, Plexiglass differs in price depending on it's thickness and what it's rated for. You can buy sheets of the stuff and cut it to size, or buy different sized sheets too. That's at Menards. As for plywood prices, ordinarily around here(MN) a 4X8 sheet of grade A(no seconds) OSB(chipboard) would go for like 7.95. However, because of a super high demand right now - repairing storm damaged roofs and stuff, the wood has jumped to 22.00 a sheet! Be prepared for anything in between those extremes I guess. But the prices I quoted are just for here, and for grade A stuff. Seconds are damaged and cheaper.

Not very helpful I guess, but the best thing to do is to just start calling around to your local places for quotes. Also, whenever I ask hubby to make me a cage for something, I always get some expensive screening, sized for each species, but what I look for is galvanized AFTER the weld because then you really have a super safe material that even can be chewed on without danger of lead poisoning to the animal. I learned that for building parrot cages for a friend a few years ago. Most ordinary hardware cloth type screening(square holes) and even someothers do contain lead. There's a company in WI that sells the stuff by the roll very reasonably. p.s. I do that because I usually have one empty all purpose cage around, and have at times been called on to rehab or foster some odd thing. This way I can stick any species that would work into a cage and it will be safe - a reptile may not chew, but a small marsupial might, for example, and cages can be adapted as long as safe materials are used.

Gads, I talk too much in the morning! Sorry folks. :-))
