Leslie...you can start out by tub training them....have lukewarm water about 86 degrees already in the tub...put your ig in it....and wait for him to poop. Do this for a few weeks...then replace with a large cat litter box filled with lukewarm water and have him go in it. Or what I did was I stopped putting in water and put down newspaper in the tub. After a few weeks put the newspaper outside the tub in our spare bathroom and that's where they go to this day (I keep a large cat litter box 1/4 filled with lukewarm water in each of their cages...my male ig will poop in it once in awhile but my female still waits to be let out to go to the toilet. If you choose to go the cat pan method...put the cat pan where it is you want them to go. Its all about consistency and routine....they'll get the idea. Try Marie Eguro's website she has toilet training techniques that may help you that are explained a lot better than Im doing here. Her ig uses the toilet even... some folks have it easy I swear! Scroll down on the left hand side of the site to toilet training....good luck & don't give up!
Gina
