Hi, there

My personal opinion is that it depends solely on the 2 iguanas. One of my males, Bones, does not get along with either of me females, so they are kept seperate. My other male, Einstein, is very sweet and treats the girls very well. He even mated with them this fall without causing even the slightest injury. The girls are very fond of him and go insane when I remove Einstein, even for a while. Unlike your first reply, just because 2 iguanas mate, doesn't mean you need to allow 40 baby iguanas to hatch. Some males get along with some females, some don't. Like I said, it depends.

My advice is to introduce them for short periods of time, and only under supervision. See how they interact. Watch their body language. Do they percieve this other iguana as threatening? Do they ignore each other? Do they seem to like each other? If they seem to dislike each other, feel uncomfortable around each other, or attempt to attack each other, they should be kept seperate. If they get along ok, gradually increase their time together. Begin to give them a little time alone, altho keep an ear on them. Yours may be a lady's man, like my Einstein, or he may be a loner ig like my Bones. it's hard to say. Give it a try and find out.
Hope that helps.
Best,
Jamie/JBug
