The original ER dr. put him on one med.; 2 days later when his finger joint was swollen & he was in pain we went to his personal dr. She researched it and switched him to a different med. more designed for the "bugs" in animals' mouths.

: Perhaps it's a simple case of needing to try one more round of antibiotics. Hope so!

: P.S. For those of us who are continually getting scratched (or worse) by our iguanas, it would be wise to make sure that old tetanus is still effective :o)

I'll ask him about it.. I DID tell them it was an iguana bite 'cuz he walked in reading the chart and said, "You have an iguana?" I replied, "No, I have three.." He looked at me very, very strangely and said, "Okay... well, then, let's see that finger!"

And the tetanus shot was two years ago after being bitten by a mouse that was being fed to a snake. I had to explain that to the nurse (why I needed the shot and then HOW I managed to get bit by a mouse) I SWEAR she made it hurt on purpose.. ;>
