Here, a little Iguana 101...eggbinding can and will occur whether a female iguana has mated or not. Period. Eggbinding occurs because of insufficent health of the female, or because of blockage cause by misshaped eggs, etc. I'm surprised that your vet didn't tell you that when he had to spay *your* female due to eggbinding. Breeding has *nothing in the least to do with it* You said you had Mader's book? I suggest you attempt to read it. I do believe I also stated that the reason I allow Einstein to be with the females is because he is a gentle lover and does not tend to hurt the females in anyway. I also assme that since you haven't flamed anyone else who agrees with me about freezing eggs, this is just about how you feel about me....however that is. As for having my males neutered....I don't consider having extensive surgery done on my reptiles if they don't need it a fun hobby...I will leave them as nature intended. Now, kindly get off my back.
Jamie

: I feel that freezing fertile eggs is murder and *allowing* your ig to mate is irresponsible and reckless. Now you have put your females at risk both with egg-binding possibilities and injury occuring from mating. Please consider having your male neutered or isolated from females and spare us the morbid details of what you will do with the eggs once laid.
: Gina
