Your little ig thinks your going to eat it. Taming is going to take a lot of patience on your part. You can start very slowly with just putting your hand in the cage. Go as close as your ig will let you without going crazy. Keep your hand in that position for 5 to 10 minutes while talking softly to him/her. Do not remove your hand until the ig is calm. If the ig runs around or tail whips you hold your ground without being threatening. Do this a couple of times a day. You will notice that you will be able to get closer and closer to your ig with your hand. Resist the urge to pick it up.
Within a couple days/weeks (time varies) you should be able to put your hand (with it being palm up and fingers together) up to the chest of your ig. Still do not pick it up, just hold your hand there and talk to it. When you get to where you can put your hand to its chest you can then begin to apply slight pressure with you hand to just under the chest. Eventually the ig will walk onto your hand. Again resist the urge to grab, just let it sit on your hand. This just keeps progressing in a slow manner to being able to lift your ig out and introducing it to the other hand.
Tips: Move slowly at all times. Always end the training session on a good note, when your ig is being calm and doing good. When you can get close enough offer a treat and see if it will take it from you. Everything concerning your contact with your ig should be a positive thing.
