Well Chris, I can't say for certain, but I've heard many times that black lights can in time cause some serious attitude problems in iguanas. I have heard that it makes them a bit crazy. I believe that the best way to heat an enclosure at night is with the use of regular red or blue party light bulbs. Iguanas can not see the red or blue light, and it provides a good source of heat, as regular incandescent bulbs do during the day. As far as the black light thing goes, do what you will, but I choose not to use anything with mine that is questionable for the well being of the animal. I think it's pretty scary that the pet store I bought Stu and Oswald from told me that black light was a great source of heat.......day or night, and that the flourescent UVB bulbs were not necessary!
