I handle Mel daily. I need to take her out to soak and poop her. Also her enclosure is waayyy to small so she needs to get out to roam. She is not keen on being picked up but settles down once you give her the support she needs.

I do not have any scatches currently. I wear full length opera gloves when I handle her so my arms don't normally bear scratches. I do get the occasional bit of ig rash on my legs when I wear shorts and her very rough tail brushes against them (ouch!)

Mel is quite large by the way. She is roughly 17 inches SVL. Her total length is only about 40 inches but then she is missing half her tail. She weighs 9.5 lbs (I just checked her weight).
