I haven't really paid attention to how long it takes Sneakers to complete one full shed. In the last couple of months she has shed continually. When we first got her, last Nov/Dec, during the winter months I think she only shed once and lasted a week to 10 days (I think). Lately during these warm summer days with taking her outside for sunshine, it has been one shed then the next. It has been about 2 weeks now without a shed. She must be resting.
I keep a big shallow water dish in her cage at all times. When she is about to shed I will notice that she will go and soak in it. When things are really itchy, she will lay in the water for an hour or more. The water dish is kept partly under the basking light to keep humidity in the cage and it also keeps the water warm. So far I have only had to help the shed once, I just keep an eye on it to make sure everything is coming off.
Joan (hope that helps)
