Hi Chris,
Sounds familiar! Sounds great!
You've embarked on a SEEMINGLY impossible task, that of getting your ig to trust you.
It might take a while. In my case, I've had Icculus for almost 5 months and he won't even
BREATHE when I hold him, or am near. Eating in front of me is out. I'm not counting on it.
However, if you see poopies, then the ig is eating at least something.
Something in, something out. If there's no poopies, then the situation might be heavier.
Grab that first poopie (cream of iguana) and get it to the vet.
This is the single best thing you can do for your ig at this point.
Suggestions: At mealtime, place the food and vamoose. Give it some privacy, it'll appreciate it.
Also: keep trying. I just suffered an ugly escape sequence is Icc last night and almost lost my mind.
It'll turn out okay, just be patient and your ig will reward you for it.
But remember, this could take a LONG time. You must be prepared for this.
But you know what they say... you get out what you put in.
Best of luck, and keep thinking positive, the ig will come around.
This, also, is not a plug, just good advice (methinks): Get James Hatfield's book,
"Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Manual" It's the bible for igs, and I guarantee it'll
answer a bunch of your questions. It sure is for me. :)
