consider putting plexiglass on the outside of the enclosure ... depending on where you live, in the winter, it could be darn near impossible to keep it warm + humid enough ... (i'm in Iowa, been there, done that!)

the problem with using a red heat lamp at night is that it puts out too much light (even tho it's red!) ... it's just too bright and igs like to sleep in the dark ... the CHE HD mentioned is a good alternative ... when iZ still had an enclosure (he's got a room now), i'd put a blanket over the whole thing at night after turning off the heat lamps ...

igs can get a bit cooler at night, as long as they are nice and warm during the day ... iZ has a human heating pad (on the LOW setting)on his favorite basking shelf in his room ... he's got the option of laying on it (or not) at night ... usually he doesn't need it, but he knows where it is if he gets chilly

the 2' dimension sounds awfully narrow for a full grown ig ... giving him supervised roaming time outside the enclosure EVERY DAY will help give him enough exercise and improve his mood ... *grin*

best of luck
:P + :)
