: Well, this summer has been a wonderful one here at Le Iguana Spa!

: Sammy is doing really well, been enjoying several hours of sunbathing every day as usual, and is very mellow and predictable, always going to the toilet in her precise way to potty as usual, taking walks outside by herself to get even more sunshine... I know... boring.... Sometimes she gets quite lazy on our walks outside and lifts herself up on to the curb off the main street and throws her arms back:

: Baby Sapphire has really been learning a lot and I am very pleased with her. I can't believe I have had her for more than a year now! She is almost 12"SVL, and 3 lbs (just measured/weighed her).

: Unlike the way Sammy was as a baby, Sapphire has always been totally tame from the day she hatched out of her egg, and continues to be this way, sitting on my lap for hours, and has *never* run away/whipped, etc, when I reached down into her glass tank. Actually, she really loves people and will often jump up on you when she sees you coming into her room. A few months ago however, she learned the word "WAIT" and will wait until I say for her to jump up on me. Sometimes I tease her and say "WAIT" and then tempt her like nuts, and she sits there, back legs all ready to jump, eyes glued to me, waiting for me to say "OK". It is *hysterical* to watch her be so anxious to jump up on me but trying to control herself!

: These days, Sapphire's toilet habits are improving a lot too! She has a long way to go to reach Sammy's "precision", but she has been going on newspaper quite well, although sometimes she misses and goes half on the newspaper, half off it. Grrr... She learned the tub thing very quickly, even without water in it (only about a week after coming home with me), but it would be really nice to have her take that next "step" from tubpooping to being reliably papertrained, to give me more flexibility with my schedule.

: She loves to bob her head at everything, much more "vocal" than Sammy is! When Sapphire sees my eyes open in the morning (she sometimes sleeps with me), she will bob as if to say "Good Morning!!", then put her chest down next to me and throw her arms back, waiting patiently until I get up and out of bed. She also often bobs when I present her favorite foods, as if to say "Yay!" or "Thank you!". She is a complete angel with such character, and I find it difficult to believe she is a lizard.

: Sammy and Sapphire have been pure joy to have in my family! Sorry this was so long and thanks for listening!

: Best,

: Marie n Sammy n baby Sapphire
