Certainly in true cases of dehydration the best thing is the Pedialyte and Pedialyte/water soaks...and the slurry stuff if you have a boatload of problems going on with him/her.

I've used the lettuce busines ONLY when I'm trying to ward off dehydration under certain circumstances; i.e., loss of appetite during medication periods...and ONLY when the iguana has been fed a good meal and eaten all he/she will eat for that setting. I also "learned" to fix & serve Lightning's meal and wait for her to eat what she would BEFORE I gave her her antibiotics on the bread piece. Only took mom twice to realize that the 1/4 piece of bread slice filled her up too much before she was given her meal.
