: : My friend Ray posted this and I guess nobody noticed so, on Joan's advice, I'm reposting it.
: : "My friend Mike is letting me use his comp to ask this question... He said you guys would answer it best. Now that he's gonna
: : get a rock iguana I want to get a Rhino. Would a 7x3 foot cage be sufficient if I let him roam indoors a lot and put him outside
: : (caged of coarse) during the summer? He insists I still need a bit more room. He's gonna tell me the answer since my comp
: : doesn't have net access."

: : There it is. Well?
: : And Joe III, what ever happened to that soft shelled sulcata you saw at the petstore?

: The baby sulcata died....... I went back to the petstore the next day and it was gone. I asked about him and they said that he had died.... Grrrr....
: As for Rhinos... the more room the better! they need a large surface area to walk around. They are not the climbers that greens are, so the cage does not have to be real tall. They climb some when that are young but not so much as adults.
: Also One should go and check out a few adult Rhinos first before getting a baby. These guys get BIG and even the tame ones do not like the be held. They do not have to bite you to hurt you. Their skin is rough, hard, and sharp! if you are holding one and it is struggling, you will have cut up hands. These guys are not the Pets to get if you want and ig to carry around or even to ride on your shoulder, you might want to get a green. Cubans and Lewisi crosses are much softer too, if your really want a Cyclura.
: Don't get me wrong now, I have a Rhino that I love and will never let go... She is a great pet. But there are some things that you just do not do with Cornutas.
: Take care,
: Joe III
