Welcome to the forum, Theresa. First of all, I'd like to say that Hot Rocks are such a huge NO NO!!! they can cause severe burns. If you have a hot rock for him, please sut the cord on it, or just throw it away! Next! There are several good ways to provide adequate heat to your ig at night. Iguanas require a full nights sleep, in the dark, so you can't leave the light on at night. 12 hours on, and 12 hours off. One effective method, is to use a heating pad.........not one of the expensive pet heating pads....but a regular old human heating pad will do. Also, you can use a regular blue or red party bulb for them at night if you wish. They cannot see the blue or red light, and that should provide adequate lighting. Just be sure to have the light close enough for them to benefit from it, but not so close that they can get burnt, and not accessible for them to touch in any way. I hope that this has been helpful, and please feel free to join us here at the forum any time you need help. The people here are some of the best people out there! Just ask them, they'll tell you!

Scott
