Nope, with the roses, they are only supposed to eat the petyals. I looked up the gas issue in Mader's Reptile Medicine and Surgery book (Excellent and awesome book, altho the reading is very technical, so it takes lots of concentration), and I didn't find anyhting about why or how rose petals cause gas, or if it's common. Altho it's supposidly ok for them to get gas every now and then. Just like humans, I guess. :)
:By the by,do you also feed them the leaves as I do with the hibiscus?
