Hi Rhon! I've heard the same thing but where I don't have a clue! I must also say that our igs go crazy when they smell tomato-based sauces so they do get a bit of it. I've used raw tomato in the past to see if they liked it...didn't.

It's really neat because it tells you all kinds of things about the plant/food/flower. If you type in tomato under common name, it will lead you to the latin name and you can go on to find among other things that ALL green parts of the tomato plant are toxic.
