Hi Rhon:

Lose the romaine lettuce. It has almost no nutrients. Good leafy vegatables include dandilion greens, collard greens, kale, chinese cabbage, swiss chard, escarole, and spinach. The fruits my Ziggy likes are mangos, apples, cantelope, and blueberries. I supplement with vitamins and calcium, but also with whatever fresh veggies I have in addition to the a basic calcium rich veggies/fruits that I have prepared. I add things like fresh squash, whatever melon I am eating, or fresh fruit. That is a treat on top of Ziggy's leafy high calcium diet. He seems to be doing well on this, and Ziggy has lived on a diet of Romaine lettuce for 7 years. He is all bony and his fingers (?toes) are all deformed. Good luck!
: I have been told that Igs should not eat tomatoes, the reason given was that tomatoes are high in acidity..anyone know if this is fact or fiction? I want to provide Inga with variety but want to be cautious so as to not cause her upset, so let me know what some of your Ig favorites are..for now Inga is munching on papaya, sprouts, canalope, romain lettuce, beans, and spinach (along with a supplement). Glad to hear some meal suggestions. Rhon
