It all depends,
Every iguana has its own personality, and when you buy as a baby
there is no guarantee it will turn out the way you want as an adult.
Males are the ones that go through the aggressive breeding season and may even want to hunt
you down and try everything he can do to attack/bite /kill you.
However, you would never see the same intelligence level in a water dragon the way you would with an iguana.
If you watch a healthy iguana they are very interested in their surroundings and obviously know their
special humans from other people. Water dragons generally sit still with a glassy eyed look.
Let me put it this way, I could never walk around the block with a pet water dragon and expect it to learn the whole route, (walk the route without a leash, me just following, and return home by itself)
the way I can with my iguana.
My green iguana is very tame but she likes to pretty much keep to herself, that is I can approach her at any time to pet, feed etc. But she generally does not seek me out in our house.
My blue iguana however is totally different, she tries to jump up on me when i enter her room, and often does not leave me alone if I am in her room (wants to crawl/sit on me). She had to learn the word "WAIT" because she is getting bigger now (almost 3 lbs).
She will also follow me around the room, sit on my lap for hours and hours and hours outside in the sunshine, you get the picture. They are all different, there are no guarantees. Makes them nice that way!
Good luck!
