In Reply to: How Do I Stop My Iggy From CONSTANTLY Bumping His Nose??? posted by Iguana Guy on July 14, 1999 at 20:14:09:
Well alls I can add is that ....its common. Padding the corners...tape it down, silicon glue it down with rubber/foam/rolled towels until Ig gets used to being caged. Don't know how big Klondike is...but the tank will not hold him very long even if he is an iglet. You can have an enclosure the size of a football field and ig trying to escape will hurt his nose. Been there done that ;o) its all about getting Klondike getting used to it....setting vision boundries is also good if its a glass aquarium type tank...most of the time just the bottom 1/4 covering it with paper or whatever, but Ive read about igs that would lunge from their basking branches at glass thinking they could get thru it so maybe covering it altogether will help. Gee poor little thing is really stressing....I think for time being just pad up those corners..since he hasn't gotten it thru his thick head that he isn't going anywhere YET and to minimize injury. Then deal with any new behaviors as they come.Make sense?
