Hi Saci...
Whatever works for you and your ig....very perceptive Jeff is absolutely right..never want to cold turkey a diet on an ig...even if feeding him mealworms all its life...(I do know of someone who feeds his 2y/o ig NOTHING but mealworms...I swear it!) You know not to do this tho right? lol anyway...taper off the old while introducing the new.....I think that both Kevin Egans & Melissa Kaplans iguana diet is seriously flawed...but nonetheless....do your own research using a VARIETY of iguana diet info on the web or books. Iguanas require a high calcium high fiber diet. The high fiber is needed to counteract the symptom of constipation which is a side effect of a high calcium diet ;o)
Also...please consider taking a poopie specimen to the vet for analysis....Must be fresh within 24 hours...the colored part NOT the white parts (urates) or liquid (pee) and put in a ziplock baggie or small margarine tub...until sent off to the vet. I'd do this especially if your ig hasn't been tested for flagylets or other protozoa, parasites including worms in the last year...many things trigger an explosion in parasitic population perhaps one of the reasons for her diarrhea vs the change in diet.
