850 is a Tallahasse, FL area code. I was wondering how they got my address. I don't remember posting it here, but it is possible.
Anyways I am forwarding it to Argiope (head of NIAD). They were pretty upset over the igs for $5.99, I can just imagine how they will feel about somebody offering $4.00 igs.
I suggest those of us who got it send a reply. Ask them if they provide care sheets or any info with their igs. Or do they just get an order, get their money, and send the ig on it's way with no thought to the care given it following the sale.
When are pet stores going to figure it out? Sure you can sell a lot of igs by pricing them at $4, even more if you provide no info on care or worse yet bad info. Most of those igs will die and the buyers will be discouraged from buying another herp. Or you can raise the price of igs to say $25 - $30 dollars (still affordable, but for such a large magnificent animal I would prefer to see them priced at closer to $100.00) and provide proper care instructions. You may not sell as many igs, but you will get more per ig. Plus you get follow-up sales on things like UVB lights (which aren't cheap and need to be replaced every 6-9 months). I think in the long run the pet stores would do better to raise prices and provide better care info.
Oh well, I can dream can't I.
Kayo (feeling very discouraged)
