Aren't they just so funny! I can't even imagine an ig eating a steak! rofl!! The pizza I can see because of the melted cheese but a steak? I picture one sitting at a table with a steak knife and a fork, poised over a big ole t-bone...what a riot!!

: Wheat bread is best but a lot of people use whatever they have at hand for the humans. HD is right about it not being an every day food.

: Bread is also useful for when you have to give liquid medicine. They'll usually take it right down if you put it on bites of bread :o)

: My iguanas prefer the frozen collard greens and mustard greens to the fresh ones. (They like the fresh curly mustard greens.) Because frozen foods lose thiamin over time, it needs to be replaced when the food is fed. They say it is safe for a month before it starts to lose this, but we have no way of knowing how long that bag has sit in the grocer's freezer before we take it home. So, what I've started doing is once a week feeding our iguanas a whole slice of bread. I'll add a bit of water to the frozen food and zap it for a minute. I use the water left in the bowl (cooled down) as a "dip" for the bread. Figure I'm killing two birds with one stone this way. Get the thiamin back in and get more water in :o)

: P.S. I've just started doing the above trick. If anyone out there sees a potential problem with it, please advise! Oh yes, another way I have of adding back thiamin during the week is to add a bit of cooked rice or enriched pasta to the day's meal.

: P.S. Judy..had to laugh over the scrambled eggs, etc. If ours had their way, they'd dine on charcoal grilled steak or pizza!
