Debbie...I've found that Neosporin works pretty well in healing injuries. Judy
: When I took Zen out today for a walk I noticed that she had broken two spines off near the base of her tail, probably in the last 24-36 hours (small bit of dried blood stll on area). A few months ago she had broken one, but it wasn't nearly as bad and after a few sheds the surrounding area returned to normal. This time it looks like she tore a little bit of skin on either side, and the scales on either side look discoloured, almost washed out.
: We have a vet appt next week anyway, but since she's already gone through a tail amputation after a previous infection did NOT respond to 3 antibiotic and daily antiseptic soaks, I'm a little concerned.
: Given that I've had no luck with 3 antibiotic in the past, has anyone fared better with Betadine? And is reptiheal a protective coating to put over the wound? (And who sells it?)
: Maybe the broken spine from months ago didn't heal as completely as I thought...this is in almost the same area, so maybe it was already weakened/brittle...
: Any suggestions or comments would be welcome!
