I believe what you described is the same thing Lola has. We recently took her to the vet and had him look at the area (dark scales and swelling near her mouth). Our vet wasn't too concerned. Just said to keep an eye on it and if it got any worse, to bring her in and he would lance it. He said there could be (I hate this word!) pus in it. Iguana pus isn't "liquid", but more of a thick mass. Ewwwwww! Because I am such a weenie and didn't want to put Miss Lola through any pain, we chose to do the "wait and see" thing. Its been several weeks now. No improvement, but not any worse either. She eats fine and acts the same (which from early posts, she lays around all day). When in doubt, take your ig to the vet. Good luck!
