Well guys....I did it again! I was at work at petsmart(not so smart) and the second I got in, I began raising a snit about the poor collared lizard that STILL hadn't gone to the vet. The basilisk hasn't gotten any better either. I convinced them to let the petsmart vets look at the collared's hand(very swollen) and they told me that they couldn't do much, except maybe x-ray it to check if the hand was broken. But they needed corporate permission first. I raised more of a fuss still, and got a chance to talk to my supervisor...........She had informed me that since the cost of a vet visit for the lizards, treatment, and such would cost more than the cost of the animals............(get a load of this).........that they could'nt do anything to help them! I said..."So you guys are just going to let them die?".......and everybody I talked to just shrugged their shoulders! Do you believe that! So I finally convinced them to let me take them home, and try to nurse them back to health. I have to take the collared lizard to the vet out of my own pocket, which I can't afford. The basilisk has a healing case of mouth rot, which I believe will heal much faster if every stupid high school dork(no offense anybody) isn't administering medicines. So I got them home now, and am falling in love with them already! The collared lizard is SOOOO cool! The basilisk is a little fiesty punk! But he's mostly just scared and stressed! I hope all goes well with them, and I know very little of their care for either. I know that this is an ig forum, but any advice you guys have will be great! I trust you guys more than any body else out there! I have been seriously researching their care for the last few days, and have learned a great deal. Juby is thrilled about our new buddies! but anyway..............I just had to share my day!
bye,
Skinny
