agreed on the pit bulls, i was attacked my a pit when i was 4 and it tried to bite my throat open. i have the teeth marks and scar ( 34 stitches) to prove it. it bit me because i approached it while it had a bone in its mouth. i didn`t try to take the bone or anything, i just sat beside the dog. it didn`t growl or give any indication it was gonna bite. next thing i remmber was a big mouth closing around my throat! maybe we should be more worried about animals that are known to be this aggresive than a ferret which poses no threat to nieghbors and children. esp. here in ca you would never know someone even owned a ferret unless you went into thier home. so if they aren`t out in the public where they can cause harm, why should we worry about people owning them???

: Kitty my chihuahua "Lady" says she want to bite you for saying that! Talk about unprovoked attacks...I would have thought you would mention Pitbulls, or chows, or rotts! Its not all of them of course...just alot more isolated incidents and unprovoked attacks especially against childern with those breeds than others. Just the other day...a three year old was killed by a pit after the pit bit his throat..because the kid was playing with a pup absolutely tragic!...California already has a ban on ferrets but I see people having them all the time..here.So much for ferrets here those little outlaws!
