sighns of shedding?

Hello all! THorn is turning out to be a fine young man. It seems like he grows over nite.I woke up this morning and took him out on the back deck for his routine morning sunbath, and I saw that his skin was flaking.He ate hardily yesterday but Today he's only ate a little squash. I was wondering if these are some sighns of shedding because he has grown alot since I "rescued" him from the local pet shop.
