Yesterday when I had Zen out (sitting on my keyboard, actually) something spooked her and she took off. I tracked her down and picked her up, at which point she went frantic for about 5 sec (I have the scratches to prove it) and then ballooned up with air, closed her eyes, and went rigid. She wasn't even holding on to me anymore. Nor was she breathing. I put her back on her perch and within a second or two she exhaled, opened her eyes, and was back to normal. Sheesh! It took a few minutes for my heart to start beating again. Anyone else have this experience? Is this a common escape mechanism that I just haven't experienced before?
And was it my imagination, or did she suddenly start to feel cold too?
WOrst thing is, I STILL don't know what set her off...but since I've been feeding her better she's developed an attitude (!). I think she's still mad that I went away for a week and left her in the hubby's care...
