Bret,

He is a VERY pretty boy! How long have you had him? It is possible that all of the stress from the fire and the shelter will just take awhile for him to get over.

Keep being kind and be VERY patient. You don't know how much he was socialized by his previous owner and he could be basically wild. In the Iguanas for Dummies book it says that it can take up to 6 months to a year and sometimes even longer to gain your iguanas trust!

Don't be discuraged though. My Frodo warmed up to me within a couple of weeks. Every iguana has his own personality!
