: a few years ago some of the igs coming out of El Salvador were very blue... kinda turquoise
: they were Iguana iguana... kinda nice...
My green iguana is from El salvador, these iguanas are usually not blue except maybe a little as babies, the ones from Peru sometimes have "blue" in them but
even if an adult retains some blue color, it is more steel colored, grey-blue colored, not the bright neon blue
of C. nubila lewisi, the Grand Cayman Blue Iguana. There is a really *big* difference between the two, if you see fully grown pure lewisi when they are warm and in the sun
you would be shocked and fall over, the color is so intense and gorgeous.
Whether Green, blue, orange, brown, whatever, each species has their own charm and is beautiful in it's own way.
A healthy iguana is a beautiful one!
