I posted earlier under Skinny's post as far as calling a truce to the import ig war, please refer to it before posting. Kev is trying to run a business, he supplies a demand. If he supplies healthy baby igs to a pet store and they sell them to an irresponsible owner, who is at fault?
Obviously, the blame is split, the buyer and the direct seller. If we were to buy a croc monitor, and the seller did not ask questions as far as our ability to keep such a lizard and let us know beforehand, can we blame the breeder/importer? Sue and I have proudly displayed our adult igs in public, only to hear a mother tell her son that they will get rid of the ig before it gets that big. As ig owners, we can only educate and try to get people understand the responsibility of owning a ig, to try to cut off imports deals with the symptoms, not the actual problem.
I hate animal abuse as I hate few other things, but pet buyers are the problem, more than anything else.
IMHO,
Dan
