Well, if you have gone back to Melissa Kaplans site than you have seen her basic ig salad. That is what I feed my ig. I also give her an assortment of the greens. You need both the basic salad and the greens. I add different things in daily for a variety. You need the variety to ensure that your ig gets everything it needs. I understand that in Canada some of this stuff may be hard to come by. Try health food stores or ask your local produce manager if he can order some of it. Frozen is also ok, but read the section on frozen veggies at Melissa's site. Another good site for variety items to add is Jen Swaffords.

If he is being fiesty that is a very good sign. It is also good that he is eating on his own.

You are lucky if you can allow him to freeroam. Melissa's site has a good section on that also. I do not freeroam Mel (she gets out daily for supervised roaming) because I have a 20 month old. So I don't have any experience with this.

For humidity a pan of water in the bottom of the cage would help. You will have to be sure to check it frequently in case Iggie poops in it, you will want to clean it out immediately if he does. At the very least it should be cleaned out once a day. The other option would be to run a humidifer in that room. You may want to invest in a nice heavy duty one as the cheaper ones burn out by being run constantly. The increased humidity will also be good for you, an added bonus.

Finally, the best way I can describe a good ig poop is that is should look like a large, extremely large, bird poop.

But, you still should get Iggie checked out by a vet. This is important!

Congratulations once again!!!! Keep posting with us, welcome to the family!
