: I've been reading up a lot on iguanas and their husbandry but I cant seem to find how old an ig should be before you clip its nails. If anyone can help me on this your information would be much appreciated
I have found when it is time to clip (when claws are very long, injuring me and every harmless human in the slightest effort to handle Lou), the best time to clip is a few hours after dark, when Lou is very sleepy and lethargic so my helper and I don't get hurt by a very warm, alert, irritated igg...she is very good when we clip her at night, *just pretend it's a dream, Lou...all over soon* and we do it as quickly as possible. We first clipped her at about 6 months, so the earlier in life the better and they're more used to it as they get older, but will never like it, that's for sure! :)
