yeah so kids may like lead paint but kids also are not exposed to it 24 hours a day like igs are exposed to insects naturally in the wild.
in walkin style outdoor enclosures with 1/8 rat wire insects fly in and out of the cages all day long. granted i have a good climate for them and can keep them outside for several months out of the year...but then again anyone should be able to do that for at least the summer months unless you are stuck in Alaska :)
bottom line (and i am NOT claiming to be an expert either) in my opinion based on importing thousands of iguanas as well as breeding them.
I have never seen any bad effects from igs being able to pick and choose their food even if it is the daily insects they are lucky enough to catch.
