Have you given any thought to purchasing one of those combo flourescent tube & screw in bulb type fixtures? May be worthwhile for you...so you can have the uvb tubes & the heating/basking bulbs on one end.I would suspend the fixture from the ceiling or adhere it on both sides of wall right at mid length of that window..where it separates, so I could open the window on nice sunny days.Make sure the screen is secure. The only problem I see is IF the window was closed & sun came thru the glass you might have "bamboo chicken" when ya got home, so use some type of reflectorized coating for window that provides vision for ig, but protection for extreme temps as well. The way you have the set up pictured...the flourescent fixture is NOT providing adequate uvb. Within 12 inches---9 1/2 inches is optimal if using artificial uvb. May also want to buy a "reflectorized" uvb tube...I think ESU is the only company that makes them..so that uvb rays are NOT lost on top of the fixture...but eminate downward to the iguana. You can decorate /paint/stencil the fixture with any appliance-(stove) paint. Neat plant-ivy stencils at craft stores to make the fixture look more attractive in your home. Keep cords away by using u-nails adhere em to the wall, down the length of the window to floor. Just a couple of ideas...just woke up so...not sure if this is making much sense.
