It probably wouldn't hurt. When we use iodine, it is diluted, and it is one of the easiest things to rinse away. Anything that would be left would be just a trace, if anything at all.
What is funny is that after I told everyone about bleach being a corrosive to metal, I went and mopped the kitchen floor using bleach and water. I was using my kitchen sink which is stainless steel. It dawned on me that maybe I ought to practice what I preach. LOL
