First off, don't let your iguana see the new iguana, this tends to make all kinds of problems. If they have to be in the same room, put a bed sheet between them at least. Things have to be done slowly with iguana's....new things freak them out way too fast.....such as a NEW iguana in the house.
And second, yes I know it could be bad if the owners are not taking good care of the iguana...but then what about if the owners are good people and just had a accident as I have heard a few people online have had before......we are not perfect. Could the owner be someone like that? or someone who doesn't take care of it. How would you feel if yours got loose and someone took it with the same thought you have right now??? Chances are you'd never see your child again....even if it was a accident. Now on the other hand.....let's say they aren't good parents to the iguana.....unfortuately there's not much you can do, with the laws the way they are. So .....what this ends up being........you have to decide.....I wish you the best!

PS if you decide to keep it and find a home....let me know Ill help you.
